River Taff

The Taff covers a diverse mix of fishing and is popular with game anglers fishing for Salmon and Sea Trout, fly fishing for Brown Trout and Grayling and course anglers now catching large Chub and Barbel.

There has been some confusion regarding Close Season Fishing on the Taff. Club Members are permitted to Fly Fish for non Migratory Trout and Grayling on a coarse license. All fish must be returned to the water. Spinning is NOT Permitted. Normal rules apply regarding the weir pools.
 
River Taff, Cardiff. Covering from Canton Bridge to the M4 crossing.
 

Species Present: Chub, Dace, Eels, Roach, Grayling, Salmon, Sea Trout, Barbel, Perch and Brown Trout.

 Access to some parts of the River is difficult & members must take care when looking for fishing swims and use the best approach paths possible without interfering with any users of the land & River.
