Glamorgan Anglers Club – Licence renewal Newsletter for the season ending 31 March 2026. Please read this newsletter very carefully as it contains all the information you need to renew your membership for the 25/26 season.

Existing members from the 24/25 season can re-join the Club for the 25/26 season either online (through Clubmate) or by post (form attached) from 1 December 2024. Existing 24/25 members are guaranteed a year ending 31 March 2026 licence as long as they re-join before 29 February 2025. From 1 March 2025 New members will be able to join and after that date any existing members who have not renewed, will still be able to re-join but that will be on a first come first served basis alongside the New Members. There will be a membership limit so to avoid disappointment please renew as soon as possible before 28 February 2025. Details of joining information for New Members will be available mid February 2025.

Existing members who have a year end 31/3/25 licence can re-join for the ye 31/3/26 from 1 December 2024 as follows:-

1.Online through Clubmate–Go to https://glamorgananglersclub.clubmate.co.uk and enter the email address you are registered with, then your password. If you cannot remember your password, click on “forgot password” and a one-time passcode will be sent to your email address (valid 15 mins), you can then reset to a password of your choosing.

· That will take you into your personal GAC Dashboard.

· On your personal Dashboard you will see your current membership (usually 3rd icon along), and from 1 December 2024 this will display an orange “Renew” sticker in top right-hand corner.

· Click on this current membership Icon (DO NOT CLICK ON “START A NEW MEMEMBERSHIP”) and you will be shown the licence again to click on the “Renew Now” button. You will then see a selection of licences available for your specific renewal. Click on your choice of the licence you wish to buy for 25/26. On the next screen please read the licence words carefully – it will fully describe the licence you are buying, if it the licence you want, please click on “select membership”, if not, click on the x in top right hand corner & re-chose the correct licence. After clicking on “select membership”, you will now be requested to update any changes to your profile, alter if needed, click on “save & continue”. Then, follow the on-screen instructions through to the payment. Very rarely, if you are changing your licence category, you might not see the licence you wish to change to. If this happens, please email from your comms tab in your Clubmate Profile, your name, your 24/25 licence category (Senior Coarse/OAP Game/H&W Coarse ect) & the licence category you wish to buy for 25/26 and we email you when the issue has been dealt with and you can renew to that licence.

 NFG EXISTING MEMBERS ONLY – You can follow the same instructions in the point above to get both your NFG licence and your normal memberships on one licence. If you are not a member of the NFG please see our Membership Secretary’s report in the club newsletter you will also have received.

· Renewals through Clubmate should be straight forward, but any issues please email us, preferably from your Comms tab in your Profile and describe your problem, we will email you back with the solution as soon as possible.

· Members who purchased Taff only tickets for 24/25 will be also able to re-join from 1 December 24 and will be given the choice of either a straight Taff only renewal or joining as a Full member to include all of our Waters (incl the River Taff). Follow the instructions above.

2. By Post to the Membership Secretary -

· The two pages that follow these words are the postal application form that you can use to re-join by completing and posting off to GAC. Please complete all information carefully and accurately so we can find your details – if you have access to an email address please enter that, as this will enable Club messages to be sent to you.

· Send the completed application form with a cheque payable to Glamorgan Anglers Club Ltd (or Postal Order) to Glamorgan Anglers Club, PO Box Number 220, Barry CF63 9FZ. Stamp required.

· Existing Members do not need to send a passport style headshot photo with their application.

· We will process your licence as soon as possible, but because of postal delays, please allow 21 days from the date you sent the application to contact us.

Please Note:-

· The River Taff Only season licence purchased through Clubmate for 25/26 will continue to include the right to fish on the Club stretches of the River Ely and in the designated Cardiff Bay angling locations.

A. Members who wish to join the Club via a Postal Application, we will provide this facility for as long as is needed.

B. Junior members & parents are likely to be sent a “behaviour” document for signing & returning (after joining).

C. ALL OAP/DISABLED postal applications must enclose proof of entitlement eg Copy of official document with name & address (Not a car disabled badge) – Physical disability must now be proved. Drawing incapacity benefit is not proof of disability. Please supply proof that you are receiving a Personal Independence Payment or similar or, are over 65 for OAP.

D. Keys for Club waters (Cost £10 each) are available to members from Garry Evans Fishing tackle in Cardiff and Ewenny Angling Supplies in Bridgend (Take your licence to the shop, if you do not take your licence with you, you will not be able to buy a key - Shop hours only).

E. Postal applications for the 25/26 season from people who were members of the club for the 24/25 season (Renewals only) will exclusively be able to renew their licence from 1/12/24 to 29/02/25. Applications for New Members will only be accepted from 1/03/25.

Members should note that they are responsible for their personal safety on waters and should have their own Personal Accident Insurance. By accepting a permit, members agree to abide by all club rules and are deemed to indemnify Glamorgan Anglers Club Ltd and their Landlords against all costs, claims, actions, liabilities and demands incurred by their actions. Members are reminded that fisheries can be hazardous places.

All applicants must sign to acknowledge that they accept these terms & conditions and agree that Clubmate on behalf of GAC can hold their data within the Clubmate online software.

River Taff Season Tickets will now cover Rivers Taff and Ely, plus Cardiff Bay (dedicated fishing Angling Zones only).
