River Wye, Biblins.

The Club has received a complaint from Sustrans Cymru who are responsible for the roadway from the entrance gates and along the Biblins Stretch of River regarding inconsiderate parking and speeding along the roadway.
Would all club members who visit Biblins please ensure that they do not exceed 10mph along the roadway and park their vehicles off the road wherever possible.
We understand that these complaints may not be due to club members, but we must ensure that club members follow the rules as it may jeopardize our fishing rights on this water.
Cardiff Bay Update.

Negotiations with Cardiff City Council, Cardiff Bay Authorities and the EA are still ongoing. It was hoped that the fishing rights would have been completed and signed off by 16th June, but there are legal issues that are still being dealt with the Council before the club, along with the Birchgrove and Bute Angling Clubs can have control of this water.

Further Updates will be posted here as we progress with the negotiations.

GAC Maintenance work.
20th May 2008
The Clubs Contractor will be doing maintenance works on Gribbles Covert and Llantrythid over the next week. Most of the work will involve strimming back the foliage around the pegs and paths. Would all Club Members fishing these venues whilst the work is taking place Please be mindful that there will be Noise Disturbance.

Treoes Pond work party.
A few more of the pegs have been enlarged and for the night group, carp comps and 48 hour charity comp, there are now 34 Bivvy pegs to choose from.
As you will see from the photo's, the toilet unit base has been set level ready for the arrival of the unit on Friday this will be a disabled toilet and a single cubicle for use by all club members, there are now 5 disabled friendly fishing platforms. A representative from the EA attended to have a look and a chat and was more than impressed with the work done.
We now have a Club water that is unparalleled in SE Wales for facilities and maintenance work done!

Thanks to Brian, Keith and Alan, who worked hard to make sure the concrete footings were completed correctly. Thanks also to Andy, Mike, Mick F, Colin, Richard, Paul, Steve and Dennis, who labored all day completing the pegs, burning rubbish, sorting the far bank and thinning out the trees around the edge of the islands.

Treoes Pond.
02-04-2008.

Approximately 120 carp between 5lbs and 12lbs have been introduced into Treoes Pond, which we now feel will be enough stock for the foreseeable future. What was however evident when work was undertaken this week on one of the Islands was the amount of very heavy duty traces tangled in the bushes. One trace found consisted of 25lb+ lead core and a size 4 hook. The Club would like to ask its members to be mindful when making up traces for this pond, the only alternative we will have if this persists is to set a limit on the use of heavy braid/lead core leaders. A float trace was also found which consisted of a light float attached to 20lb braid mainline, again this must stop. From the start of the open season 2008 bailiffs will be checking rigs and terminal tackle so please be sure to use fish friendly safety rigs.

Gribles Covert.
Following the removal of some large carp from this water, more species have now been introduced. tench, crucians and chub are now present and have already been caught by Members.
Treoes Pond.
When open on 1st May, Treoes will now have a toilet facility which is disabled friendly. All members can use this facility however, we must emphasize that if this facility is abused then it will be locked and open only to certain groups within the Club.
Barry Ponds.
Again chub, tench and crucians have been introduced into Carols Pond, with many of the carp now returned into Sue's Pond. This years Club project will be to introduce disabled pegs on Carols Pond with all pegs eventually being rebuilt. Also a gravel path will run along the lakesides rather than the existing path route. This should make access to both ponds much easier.
Pysgodlyn Mawr.
Opening 16th June, this pond will now be available to Night Group members (See NFG Rules) which will be an added bonus in a deterrent to poachers. The Club will be organizing work parties to clear the fringe water lilies from all swims. This fishery does now have an excellent mix of species.
Llantrithyd.
Ongoing maintenance work is taking place on this water and it is envisaged later this year that the pegs will be upgraded. This water is becoming more and more popular with Club members and although its a bit of a hike from the car park, it is well worth the effort.
St-Y-Nyll.
New walkways are being implemented during the close season and many of the platforms are being enlarged for additional safety and comfort. Please be aware that Pike Fishing is not permitted in the Summer and Autumn months. (See Club Notice Board).
New Club Forum.
We have set up a new Club forum, at http://www.glamorgananglersclub.org.uk/forum
We hope the new forum will be as popular and entertaining as the old one.
Thanks to all the members who have signed up on the new forum, it has now become a very friendly community with plenty of useful information being shared by all.
Night Fishing Group Update.
There have been some recent changes to the Club Night Fishing Group, please see the NFG 2008 page for the latest rules and updates.
Please take your litter home.
Coarse Fishing on Cardiff Bay for GAC Members.

Following extensive negotiations between Cardiff City Council, the Environment Agency Wales, Cardiff Harbour Authority and GAC over the past three years, it looks very promising that GAC Club Members will be allowed to fish certain areas of Cardiff Bay on a Club License. Jon Taylor (Club Chairman) has spent many hours at meetings with the Bay Authorities on behalf of the Club to ensure that GAC Members have the fishing rights on allocated fishing areas from June 16th 2008. The formalities are now at the final stage of completion and further information will be posted on the Club Web site.
The angling areas that Members will have the rights to fish will be along the Barrage itself and the lower River Ely estuary above Penarth road. Cardiff City Council and the Rotary Club have allocated funds to build Fishing Platforms along the Ely Estuary area.
During test fishing which took place last Summer, Chub, Roach, Dace, Mullet and Rudd were caught. There are also Carp, Barbel and Pike resident in the Bay.
The Club would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Jon Taylor for his hard work in getting the Club yet another water for its members.
2008 48hr CHARITY FUND RAISING EVENT
This years charity event will be held at Treoes pond 25/26/27 July. Registration details and more information can be found HERE. This is one to put on your calendars for both participants and members as your support is extremely helpful to our chosen charitys.

Litter Problems Persist. !
10th March 2008
Written below is taken from the latest Spring/Summer Newsletter 2008.

It must be pointed out that again litter on all our waters is still a big problem. Mr. Brian Dickman and his Bailiff Team have spent many hours on our waters just cleaning up litter. It seems that we still have a few Members who just do not care about what they leave on the banks. Be warned any member caught leaving litter will be answerable for his actions.
During the work carried out at Treoes Pond for instance, was the removal of Gorse and Bramble Bushes to allow the planting of Thorn Bushes around the perimeter. We were astounded at the amount of litter that was found in the bushes during clearing. All Club Bailiffs will now record your license number and location along with the date you are on any waters. Please remember, it is your responsibility to ensure that you leave your swim litter free following each and every fishing trip.

Written below is taken from the Club Forum 24th February 2008.

We bailiffed Llantrithyd today and were horrified at the sheer amount of litter that anglers see fit to leave on the bankside. There were carrier bags stuffed full of rubbish that were thrown into the gorse and trees (I guess in a vain attempt to hide them), disposable BBQ's (3 of them) 'hidden' in the brambles, numerous empty tins, bottles and plastic wrappers and worst of all toilet paper (used, I leave the rest to your imagination) behind trees or strewn in the margin areas. Some of this litter was left in the last day or so. I know this because a half full bottle of milk that was amongst a carrier bag full of rubbish had today's date as the 'use by'.
I can appreciate that this may or may not be down to a club member or members but rest assured these people will be caught and dealt with appropriately.
I'd like to thank the perpetrators for the 2 full bin bags of litter that were retrieved as a result and for allowing your fellow anglers to dispose of it for you.

Anyone caught leaving litter at one of our waters or not removing litter from where they have fished will be expelled from this club (as several anglers have already found out to their cost). Any member wishing to report litter problems can contact our head bailiff, please find his phone number on your membership card.

Senior Match League 2007.

After a great year with the club matches, including our Club Chairman Mr. Jon Taylor setting a new club match record of 270lb 10oz the final results for 2007 are:
1st. J. Taylor 266pts
2nd. N. Parsons. 239pts
3rd. J. Palmer. 209pts

Well done and Thank you to all who took part, we look forward to the 2008 matches.
The Matches for 2008 will be announced on here and in the Spring/Summer Newsletter 2008.

Treoes Update: December 2007.

The new gate and lock are now installed so you will now be required to carry your Key with you.

Keys are available from Garry Evans Tackle Shop, Whitchurch Road, Cardiff, or Eweny Angling Supplies, 11b Ewenny Road, Bridgend. Alternatively you can telephone local bailiff Mr. Colin Farnham on 07813 001869 (Please do not phone Colin to be let in and out !). Key's are £10.00 to purchase and fit both Treoes and Pysgodlyn Mawr.
You must produce your Club licence and Environment Agency licence when purchasing keys.
Please Note: You will not be allowed access to Treoes if you do not have a key.

Thanks to all the members who have been at Treoes and were kind enough to move swims to allow work to continue.
The fence and gates are nearing completion and the improvements to the swims, concreting of the disabled pegs and improvements to the bivvy areas, renovation of the parking area, addition of a new path around the pond and the plethora of other jobs carried out make Treoes a venue to be proud of and one that will be very much enjoyed by all.

This work will greatly improve this very popular club lake for the future of what is a great all-round fishery.
The Club would like for apologize for the large amount of noise and disruption over the past 2 weeks.

General Fish Stock Security:
Following reports from Club Bailiffs and Members, would all Club Members please be vigilant when fishing any Club Water, keeping an eye out for Illegal night lines that are being left overnight at all our waters. If you do find a night line please remove it immediately and report it to the Head Bailiff.

GAC Night Fishing Group.
December 2007.
Now that the NFG Membership has been increased from 20 to 40, there is now the opportunity for more Club Members to enjoy additional hours of fishing on selected Club Waters at night.

At present we offer both Treoes Pond and Llantrithyd lake for use by NFG Members. However, negotiations with the relevant authorities are ongoing in an attempt to allow limited numbers of NFG Members access to Pysgodlin Mawr Pond overnight. We will contact all NFG Members with details when arrangements for Pysgodlin Mawr have been confirmed.

Colin Farnham recently joined the Club Committee as NFG coordinator and can be contacted either by email on nightgroup@glamorgananglersclub.org.uk or by phone on 07813 001869.

Please see the Night Fishing Group Rules.

Applications to join the NFG must be submitted to Mick Roberts (Membership Secretary) in writing and you must have been a Senior Club Member for a minimum of 2 consecutive years. Membership is £30.00 per Year in addition to your Club License.
MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY:
Mr. Mick Roberts.
4 Heol Don,
Whitchurch,
Cardiff.

(Post ONLY, NO Callers)

Now that the upgrade works at Treoes Pond is completed, there are now  additional purpose built Bivvy pegs around the banks, and of course with the Gate now being permanently locked there is much better security for all on the site.

To ensure that we keep a record of how many members of the NFG are out and about, we would ask that NFG members call Colin Farnham prior to going over night and let him know where you intend fishing and how many of you will be at one of the ponds. Please don't ring Colin in the middle of the night though.

As an NFG Member you can also take a Club member as Guest on an overnight trip, simply by applying to secretary@glamorgananglersclub.org.uk  7 days prior to your intended trip. Each member may take a Guest 3 times per year and a guest ticket costs only £6.00.

If you have considered Night Fishing, but like myself had reservations about sitting on the side of a pond in the dark, then give it a go. I did and have not looked back. Night Fishing can be rewarding and fun, especially as you don't have the advantage of light to see where your bait went and what you have hooked until its in the net.

Paul Addecott ( Club Secretary)

Cadoxton Ponds, Barry.
Latest Update.
24/06/2008

Please see the revised rules for this Fishery.

From the 27-08-2007 Dow Corning have kindly increased the fishing hours on the Barry Ponds to 7am to 8pm weekday's, weekends still remain the same of 7am to 7pm. At the end of British Summer Time, 28th October times will resort back to 7am to 6pm.
The future is looking good for members, Dow are working together with the Club to provide a new access gate at the entrance to the path running down to the lakes for disabled access. This will include disabled pegs and a new bank side path.
From the 2009 season we are hoping to secure dawn until dusk fishing making these ponds a real investment for the future.

Investment for the Disabled
Glamorgan Anglers Club Ltd have invested a large proportion of its funds over the past two years in providing Wheelchair friendly and disabled access fishing platforms at 3 of its still waters.
With financial assistance from the Environment Agency Wales, there are now 4 wheelchair friendly pegs at Gribbles Covert pond, 2 Wheelchair friendly platforms at Pysgodlyn Mawr Pond and 4 wheelchair friendly platforms at Treoes Pond.
In addition, the club enforces a policy of Disabled Priority Platforms closest to Car Parking Facilities on each site.
It is envisaged that in the near future Wheelchair/Disabled access will be provided at Barry Ponds

Full Coarse Disabled License is £34.00 annually.
Full Game Disabled License is £50.00 annually.

Gribbles Covert.
Gribbles Covert.
Maureen Smith kindly sent the Club her views for the Autumn/Winter Newsletter, It's nice to see all members now enjoying the club waters. The club are continuing the work with disabled access being done at Barry pond in the near future.

Further Information can be obtained from our Membership Secretary Secretary@glamorgananglersclub.org.uk

Treoes Pond, Planned Work.
Would all Club Members please note that work will be commencing during November 2007 on Treoes Pond and will last approximately 8 weeks. There will be contractors working on the pond site. The works will involve heavy machinery and some bank side disturbance will be caused.
Would all members please be mindful of where they park and please be willing to move their vehicles if the need arise.
The Cormorant deterrent ropes will be put up Monday 29th October.
The work will involve bank side restoration, the construction of another two disabled platforms, fencing and hedging renewal, replacing the existing gate with a much more secure gate, which, once installed will be permanently locked, so members will not be able to gain access without a club key. It is our intention to make the gate replacement a priority.
If you do not already have a key, bailiffs Mr. Colin Farnham or Dennis have spares which cost £10.00 each.

Alternatively, keys can be purchased from Gary Evans Tackle Shop, Whitchurch Road, Cardiff, or Ewenny Angling, Ewenny Road, Bridgend.
(You will need to produce your club license and rod license before a key is issued)
The Committee apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is important works to ensure a more secure perimeter.
We will keep the web site updated with progress.

Junior Members Unusual Catch.
Junior member Aaron Rushton caught the 4lb Rainbow Trout (pictured right) whilst fly fishing the River Taff.
"Aaron was fly fishing  for grayling with a  spider and a dropper – gold head hares ear on some old 4lb leader. It was a hard fish to land – Aaron knew the leader could break so he kept the line long and walked away from the bank. I got the landing net out into the middle of the river. Just as I was netting the line broke but I managed to net it in.
The water was very low, 7.30 pm. We think the trout escaped from a fishery but it must have been in the river for a long time as the back coloration was adapted to the rocks you find in the Taff. It was  a female laden with eggs. (Aarons Dad, Chris)"
A great catch by any anglers standards. Well done Aaron!

24 Hour Carp Competition.
Treoes Pond. 29th-30th September.

Eager anglers arrived for the start of the carp competition, with a dozen or so getting in some early practice before the organizer, Nigel Sproston, arrived at 10am. The mood was very good with everyone looking forward to the draw at 11 so they could get started.
As a break from tradition, it was a 'walk on' draw rather than a 'peg' draw, which caused a few laughs whilst watching the juniors race to stake their claim on a swim.
The competition started promptly at
12pm to the sound of the horn. At this point Nigel took a walk round the lake to ensure everyone was happy.

An hour into the comp the early leader was Jenny Collins, who had already bagged 4 carp and 25lb in the bank. At this point it was starting to look like a three horse race, with Liam Owen and Jark Van Vuuren in close persuit. Everyone else was struggling with one or two fish, and even none at all!

As it got dark the anglers prepared for the night leg of the comp. At this point, things started to go downhill fast for a few, with absolutely no fish showing in their swims. To say it rained would be an understatement, as the weather decided to worsen the fishing conditions and drove one or two anglers into their bivvies.
As the night drew on, most found the fishing very quiet, but towards the early hours some managed to catch their first fish, which obviously improved their mood. This was no doubt helped by the improved weather, no rain or wind and the moon in full view.
Two lads, Liam Owen and Jack Landon, had had a good night, with Jark pulling in a few too.

The horn blew at
12pm Sunday, signaling the end of the comp. One by one the results came in and it soon became apparent that this match belonged to the juniors!

CONGRATULATIONS goes to Keeran Carmody age 16, the winner, with a combined weight of 86lb 14oz. With a difference of under 4lb, the runner up was Liam Owen age 14, a close run in the end.
Third place went to Ian Griffiths, with 60lb 10oz, who also won the biggest Fish Award with a 14lb 8oz mirror carp.

Keeran Carmody.

Commiserations go to Paul Addecott and Jack Smith, who picked up the Spam Award for not catching a single carp in the whole 24 hours. They did, however, catch a few bream between them.

Paul Addecott & Jack Smith. Spam!

Nigel (pictured above presenting the awards) would like to thank everyone who took part and hopes you all enjoyed yourselves. Special thanks to Paul Addecott for encouraging Nigel to go forward with the whole idea. Nigel also hopes to see you all again for the next one!
A final word of thanks to the committee for allowing us to do it in the first place, and for closing the whole lake for 24 hrs.

There have been a few early entries for the annual fish awards, but we are sure that there are much more specimens being caught around the club Waters. Don't forget, both Senior and Junior winners receive a years free license.

Barry ponds Work Party.
12th August.

The Club would very much like to thank the following members for their invaluable assistance at Barry Ponds,
Junior members: Joe Abbott and Lewis Acford. Senior members: Steve Abbott, Andy White, Paul Addecott, Albert Smith, Alan Trowbridge.
I would like to point out that two Junior Club Members turned up this morning to assist. All of the fishing platforms on both Carol's pond and Sue's pond were cleared of overgrowth, opening up allot of unfished areas.
Unfortunately due to the poor turnout again the paths are still very overgrown, calling for another work party in the near future.

Mums & Dads, Lads & Lasses.
Treoes, August 4th 2007.

This years competition was a great success with 11 teams fishing.
The fishing started slow to begin with only the odd fish showing around the pond. The anglers on the car park swims were the first to start catching but it wasn't long before all competitors began to start hooking into a few fish. The weights were made up of mostly silver fish, with the winners hooking into a few carp to tip the scales their way. It was a very hard fought contest with only 8oz between first and second place.

A great big thank you from not only the Junior Section, but also from all the Club members, goes go to Albert Smith who organizes all the Junior Competitions. Albert works tirelessly to make sure that the Junior competitions are organized correctly and gets support from the parents at every competition.

At the end of yesterdays competition, the Juniors presented Albert with a Plaque and a Tankard to show their thanks for his hard work. Thanks also to James Archard who turned up to assist with weighing the Fish and gave advice to the youngsters.

Cadoxton Ponds, Barry.
18/06/07
Members will pleased to hear that following the opening of the new Nature Centre at Cadoxton, the restriction of 15 members per day has now been increased to 30.

June 2007
Gribbles Covert.

Work is now complete on the pond.
To give you an idea of what has been done, 34 ton of top soil, 16 ton of Stone dust, 90 ton of stone chippings and approximately 30 x 8ft lengths of 8x4 planking has been used.
There are 4 disabled friendly platforms with solid access down from the car parking area, all of the pegs have been renewed including resurfacing to the car park and paths.

June 2007
Pysgodlyn Mawr.
Bank side work is now completed at Pysgodlyn, providing a solid gravel track around the lake and excellent swims, as you can see from the photo's (no mud !!). The work included a horse barrier to the side of the dam wall to keep horse riders on their allocated bridal path and has provided disabled friendly fishing platforms. These have been constructed using the same materials as the path, making them slightly uneven, but with Pysgodlyn Mawr being a SSSI site the contractor was limited to useable materials.

Pysgodlyn Mawr.

Carp Competition, Treoes.
16/06/07

The carp competition went well considering out of the original 13 who said they would take part only 6 actually turned up. I picked up an extra 3 on the day and with myself made 10 including Junior Members.
I must say they all behaved impeccably, 3 people blanked with the rest all catching.
The results are as follows:
1st place Jenny Collins with 51.3/4 lb
2nd Nigel Sprogston with 36.1/4lb
3rd Connor McLelland (Junior)34.1/2lb
4th Darren Chatworthy 22lb
5th Roy Tomlinson 13lb
6th Janice Collins. 12.1/4lb
7th Liam R Owen (junior)11.1/4lb.

There was a lot of Bream caught on the day  which didn't count including my self with 7 in total one of which was 4lb 8oz. Biggest fish of the day was 10lb 8oz  caught by Jenny Collins and was a linear mirror in perfect condition. My biggest was an 8lb ghost my first in Treoes so I was well chuffed
Although there was a poor turn out we did drum up a lot of interest during the day. All those who took part enjoyed themselves and have asked to be included in the next one.

£2660 Raised For Ty-Hafan

The Weed Busters.!! June 07.
Thanks to the 4 Club members Gareth Locke, Alan Trowbridge, Mike Marsh (Steve's dad!!!), and Mr. P Clotty also our Club Secretary Mr. Paul Addecott that turned out at very short notice to help clear the Fringe Lily overgrowth at Pysgodlyn Mawr.
Anglers who fish the pond regularly will know how much weed there is in the pond that had got to the point of some swims being too overgrown to fish. As you can see from the photo's below, just raking was not enough so in we went and ripped out what we could by hand.
Another work party is being organized using the club boat to get out to the area's that were too deep.

05th May 2007.
Poaching the poachers.

In view of reports now filtering in from Club members reporting poachers on some of our Club lakes we would like members to be aware of problem.
If you see or suspect that poachers are on any Club Water, under no circumstances approach them if you are alone. Either Call Mr. Brian Dickman (Head Bailiff - Contact Number on License) or call The Environment Agency free 24 hour hotline on 0800 80 70 60
You are also within your rights to phone the Police for assistance.
The more we can do to deter these people will ultimately improve angling for all.

1st May 2007

Gribbles Covert.
Works has now started on the bank side renovation and will last approximately 2 weeks. As the pond is closed under the Closed Season Period members should be pleasantly surprised at the vast improvements taking place at the pond.

30th April 2007.

29th April.
The Club would like to say thank you to all who have put in there spare time and pitched in at Llantrithyd over the past few weeks. Ten Club members turned out to what looked like an impossible task, (as ordered by our head bailiff!!) over two Sunday's the North side bank of the lake was completely cleared back to the fence and swims cleared ready for the open season.
Work is continuing at Llantrithyd to create bivvy area's for the Club Night Group, however bailiffing this lake due to its secluded area has proved a constant problem, if you would like to become a club bailiff please contact Mr. Brian Dickman (Phone No: on Club Licence).

Tuesday 3rd: I fished the point peg down the deep end. I had 1 rod on the lead this produced 2 fish, a 13lb 10oz Common Carp and a 9lb Common. I also had a waggler rod and fished straight out in front at about 15m, I started to pick up skimmers, roach and bream to 5lb and Tench to 5lb on a regular basis. Meat or double corn on a 16 hook.

Wednesday 4th: I had a short session from 4pm to early evening and fished the car park platform. Using the same waggler rig as Tuesday and meat and corn again. I managed 4 carp one of which was a beautiful Ghost Carp to 13lb 3oz, 4 Tench and a net full of skimmers, bream and roach.

Thursday 5th: Having enjoyed myself so much the previous 2 days I thought I might as well have a last short session before going back to work. I again fished the car park platforms and again used the same waggler rig and managed 3 carp, 9lb 8oz, 9lb and 6lbish, a couple of decent bream and a few skimmers and roach.
Club Bailiff Mick.

Barry, Sue's Lake.
01-04-07

I fished for a few hours in the morning float fishing corn and pellets only to foul hook a small carp, (no damage done) Club Member Dave had 6 mirrors and a nice common around 8lb as well as a bream and some lovely Rudd caught on maggot.

Pysgodlyn Mawr.
01-04-07

Not much news from Pysgodlyn, one member reported a quiet day on the fishing but a rather noisy day due to the popularity of the natural surroundings of the lake.

30th March 2007.
The first work party of the closed season was at Llantrithyd last Sunday, 9 members turned out to get stuck into all the overgrown blackthorn bushes down the east side of the lake, although another work party will be needed to finish the job. Over 50% of the bank side is now clear and a few overgrown swims were cleared ready for the open season.
The Club would like to thank everybody who made the effort, you did a great job!
I would like to add that 9 members out of the clubs current 800 was a bit of a poor turnout, we hope to see a few more volunteers at the next work party. (Please see scheduled work parties at the top of the page).
Help us to help you!

I have not received many catch reports since the start of the close season but Treoes and Gribbles seem to be producing some good catches, one member taking 11 fish in 1 session at Treoes including two Tench and reports of Crucian Carp, Roach, Perch and plenty of common carp from Gribles Covert.
Three reports from Pysgodlyn Mawr with our Club Secretary catching Grass Carp and Perch in one session with Tench and Bream on another occasion. I had a good day here catching two Common Carp and plenty of Bream on one visit this month.

25th February 2007

Rather than write this as a catch report I thought this e-mail from Ryan summed up a great day's Carp fishing.

"Fished for the second time Treoes pond this morning, arrived at 8am and was set up by 8:30am. Caught 3 common carp weighing in at 10lb, 7.5lb and 7lb, and lost one just as I was netting it. All caught on the same single tutti fruity boilie. Those 3 fish being my first ever carp catch, making my personal best now 10lb. As you can guess I am very pleased with myself, hopefully future trips to that pond will see me bag a bigger fish. I've got my fingers crossed."

I'm sure you will catch allot more carp at Treoes Ryan, its got the potential.
Thanks for the catch report.

23rd February
Pysgolyn Mawr is fishing well, 5 anglers on the pond fishing both banks. The mainstay of fish taken were Bream and Bream/Roach Hybrids. One Angler landed a lovely Perch around the 2lb mark which of all things fell to luncheon meat float fished near a weed bank. A common Carp taken by the same Angler around the 8lb mark fell to float fished worm.
Fishing is steady, with Maggots taking the most fish.

22nd February 2007
Litter at Llantrythyd.
During a trip to this secluded lake today I removed two full bin bags of anglers waste, two broken bait buckets and a bed chair frame. As you can see from the article on the home page of this site, the club at present is suffering dramatically from rubbish left behind by anglers.
Your rubbish will never be as heavy or bulky after a session as it is when you arrive - so take it home !!!!!

Poaching / Night Fishing Problems. Over the last week there has been evidence of people night fishing Pysgodlyn Mawr. This is not believed to be Club members as all members are aware that night fishing is strictly banned on this lake.
Two people were evicted from Llantrythyd Lake for night fishing this week, bailiffs will be patrolling all lakes more frequently after these incidents.

Club Signs. All of the club lakes now have signs in place informing members of any individual rules for that lake. Please read and abide by them. Due to the construction work at Cadoxton Ponds the sign for these lakes is yet to be installed.

21st February 2007
Treoes.
Club member Nigel reported catching 3 carp between 5 and 6lbs on 10mm source boilies with small pva bags of mixed pellets. Thanks for the catch report Nigel.

20th February 2007
New Information Signs for Club Lakes.

New lake information signs have been put up on all the club lakes.
Due to the increasing membership numbers within the club a full list of the club rules are now printed on the new 2007 membership card, any rules regarding certain lakes (although in the rules) will now be well sign posted.
The new signs will keep members up to date with senior and junior matches, upcoming events and planned work parties on the club lakes.
We hope you find them useful and informative.

19th February 2007.

Rhys Mahoney had a 15lb Common Carp caught at Treoes, this was Rhys's second best carp and a very nice specimen.
