Bought one of these back in June as
I was sick and tired of having a variety of bank sticks and pods in
an attempt to cover every fishing scenario.
It does everything I want out of a pod on both rivers
and lakes, robust enough to cope with the day to day trauma of being
dragged around various places.
If you're not sure what sort of a pod I'm even
talking about the Euro Pod is actually a tripod design unlike the
majority of pods for sale on the UK market. the tripod design has
always been more popular on the continent until recently with more
and more companies introducing them into their range.

The tripod legs can be adjusted for length easily
by slightly twisting the inner part of the leg, this then locks into
that length with a quarter twist of the leg itself - no screws to
tighten up which tend to eventually mark any metal it acts against.
The range of adjustment is good enough to park the pod on the
steepest of banks and the pointed tips add further to its stability.
There is also a hook situated in the center of the tripod, I
personally use this when on the river to ground the pod down and
prevent it from being pulled over. This is done with a piece of
baling twine looped down to a tent peg planted in the floor. I
promise you when set up on the river it doesn't move an inch - even
under the lunging down river bite from a double figure barbel !!!
The main body for supporting the rods can be
adjusted in two directions, both up and down to point your rods
skywards for avoiding weed beds on your favorite carp water or
keeping line out of the river to the more conventional flat style.
Been used for both and works well.
Its finish is like a polished aluminum with all
adjusters feeling extremely robust. All threads are well cut for
screwing in alarms and butt grips. This all dismantles down into a
padded bag and is easily carried. The only serious downside to this
otherwise marvelous piece of kit is its weight, just a little portly
a 4.5kg approx. For the all-round fisherman who is equally at home
on the river as the commercial carp fisheries its well worth a look
and will last you well. Hope this helps anyone considering one of
these.
